Harvest Sketch

Need 7 people.
Props – boy needs a sandwich, mum needs a knife and Jam, shopkeeper needs a loaf in a bag, baker needs a loaf, miller needs some flour, businessman needs some grain, farmer needs a spade.
Based on ‘this is the house that Jack built – go along the line including more and more people. Point of the sketch is to give thanks for everyone and all that they do.

This is the world that God made.

This is the boy called Pete
Who lives in the world that God made.

This is the mum who made the sandwich to eat,
That fed the boy called Pete
Who lives in the world that God made.

This is the shopkeeper who sold the bread,
To the mum who made the sandwich to eat,
That fed the boy called Pete
Who lives in the world that God made.

This is the jolly bread baker called Fred,
Who supplied the shopkeeper who sold the bread,
To the mum who made the sandwich to eat,
That fed the boy called Pete
Who lives in the world that God made.

This is the miller who milled flour so fine
For the jolly bread baker called Fred,
Who supplied the shopkeeper who sold the bread,
To the mum who made the sandwich to eat,
That fed the boy called Pete
Who lives in the world that God made.

This is the businessman who sold the grain at the right time
To the miller who milled flour so fine
For the jolly bread baker called Fred,
Who supplied the shopkeeper who sold the bread,
To the mum who made the sandwich to eat,
That fed the boy called Pete
Who lives in the world that God made.

This is the farmer who frowned at the rain
And worked hard to harvest the grain
For the businessman who sold the grain at the right time
To the miller who milled flour so fine
For the jolly bread baker called Fred,
Who supplied the shopkeeper who sold the bread,
To the mum who made the sandwich to eat,
That fed the boy called Pete
Who lives in the world that God made

  1. nice one Lesley; I can see it being used in a school here in a fortnight,

i used a version of the house that Jack built but i called him benjamin for Christmas - This is the house that Ben built; this is the stable at the back of the house that Ben built. One year i went wild and made an advent calendar up with each scene behind a window making a point about each.
