Chapter Meeting - Epiphany Lunch
The clergy in the Aylesbury area (Aylesbury Deanery) all meet together about six times a year for what is called a Chapter Meeting. Every Deanery has a Chapter and it is an opportunity to share the highs and lows of ministry as well as plan things for the Deanery. The Churches that make up our deanery can be seen here.
Today we discussed having a website to share resources and news, confirmation days for the forthcoming year and a training day locally for people who are involved in visiting. We then had lunch together:
As a curate (trainee Vicar), I find Chapter brilliant. I get to pick the brains of experienced clergy, ask about funerals, Christmas services, Secondary school assemblies. It is also a very supportive environment and being a Vicar can sometimes be very lonely. I know I could turn to any one of the Chapter members for friendship and support.
